Research Group 'Geomorphology and Environmental Systems' |
|
The Research Group 'Geomorphology and Environmental Systems' is focusing on sediment budgets, late- and postglacial landscape development, natural hazards and Global Environmental Change. Of particular interest are mass movements and the dynamics of periglacial (permafrost) and fluvial systems in mountain areas. Applied methods range from classic and digital geomorphic mapping, GIS-applications to geophysical techniques exploring subsurface material and structures as well as modelling of mountain permafrost. The technical equipment includes GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), multi-channel DC-resistivity, refraction seismics, PenPC, GPS, Terrestrial Laser Scanner and some hydrologic and climatologic surveying instruments.
