Research
Research Interests:
My research activities focused mainly on issues of Climate Change Adaptation - especially in risk management. Geomorphic processes in high mountain areas (Austrian Alps and Andes of Argentina) are of special interest:
- Permafrost distribution and dynamics
- Rock permafrost and slope stability
- Mass movements
The methods I use include geomorphological mapping, field geophysics (electrical resistivity tomography, refraction seismics and ground penetrating radar), monitoring techniques (e. g. environmental and geotechnical instrumentations), remote sensing, object based image analysis and terrestrial laser scanning.
My teaching activities include exercises and field trips in geomorphology and applied geophysics at the bachelor and master degree level.
